We did our first assessment today in Nairobi. The day started out with a bumpy van ride into town. (Although we're told nothing like the ride to Kisii will be tomorrow.) It's amazing to see all the people walking dosn the side of the street, and all the little shops along the road.
The assessments went really well, and so did the nutrition education classes. We learned so much about the people of Kenya. One of the most interesting discussions of the day was about the nutrition aquired from eating the kidneys of cows. The debate between the Kenyans was whether you should eat them raw right after slaughtering the cow, raw afte it has been sitting out a while, or cook them. - Was that too much information?
Tonight we'll spend the evening scoring assesments, and hopefully going to bed early, as we have a long, dusty, bumpy day of travel tomorrow.
Please pray for my back. It is starting to become a bit sore, so I have been doing my stretches a lot. I am hopeful that it will be fine, an dprying a lot. We would also appreciate prayers for safe travel tomorrow.
Thank you all!
Heather
